Winter Storm in Newfoundland & Labrador: February 9-10, 2024

Picture: My Backyard after the Storm
Reading Time: 2 minutes

It was our first Winder Blizzard of the Season! I took a picture from the back door of the snow in the backyard yesterday morning. It was so cold, as soon as I cleaned the ice off the window it came right back again!

Looking over social media, I saw quite a few pictures of the almost 40 cm of snow (just over a foot) we got overnight Sunday into Monday. Yes, hubby was home from work all day for a snow day! Most of the City was shut down, giving the City workers time to clear the roads. It was blowing a lot of snow yesterday morning!

It is almost back to normal, as you can see from the NTV Webcams of the Province… It is still cold though! Webcams I haven’t gone outside yet but I will tomorrow. I find it hard to get around in the snow, so hopefully it won’t be so bad then!

The trees look so bare in winter!

I have been having fun putting our house back together after hubby painted the rooms. He did the bathroom over the weekend! All that is left now to paint are the 2 bedrooms, one of which I turned into my office. That will be fun, but at least I get to re-organize! The house looks so clean and fresh with a new coat of paint! I tried painting, but my arms couldn’t do it.

My life has been really quiet the past few months and I am greatly enjoying it. I have been home a lot, dealing with pain in my back and left knee. I have been watching a lot of YouTube! Watching bodycam footage, court trials, and true crime shows to study human behaviour is interesting for me. Seeing how some people act is eye-opening.

I spend my days doing what I want to do and after so much turmoil over the past few years, the silence and peace are amazing! It is just what I needed.

Until next time… Have a fantastic day!!

  1. Thank you for your comment!
Oh yes, it was a terrible blizzard and my hubby tells me it is still hard to get around, as they haven’t cleared all the sidewalks yet.

I’ll be staying home until it is easier to get around, staying nice and warm!
