Privacy & Site Use
This space — stellareddy.xyz — is my personal site, created to share experiences, reflections, and the things I’ve learned along the way. If you ever have questions about anything here, you can reach me at sredd4848@gmail.com.
Comments
When you leave a comment, the site collects the information you enter, along with your IP address and browser details. This helps filter out spam and keep the space safe.
If you use Gravatar, an anonymized version of your email may be sent to their service to check for an associated profile image. You can read their policy at automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture—if you have one—will appear beside it.
Media
If you upload images, please ensure they don’t contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors could download those images and extract that information.
Cookies
This site uses a few basic cookies to make your experience smoother:
-
Comment cookies — If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website. These last for one year.
-
Login test cookie — A temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and disappears when you close your browser.
-
Login cookies — When you log in, cookies store your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; display settings last one year. If you choose “Remember Me,” your login stays active for two weeks.
-
Post‑editing cookie — If you edit or publish a post, a cookie stores the post ID of the article you worked on. It doesn’t contain personal data and expires after one day.
Embedded Content
Some posts may include content from other websites—videos, images, articles, and more. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the original site. Those sites may collect data, use cookies, or track your interaction with their content.
Who Your Data Is Shared With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How Long Data Is Kept
-
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely. This helps the system recognize and approve follow‑up comments automatically.
-
User accounts — If you create an account, the information you provide is stored in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your information at any time—except for your username. Site administrators can also access and edit this information.
Your Rights
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data the site holds about you. You can also ask that your personal data be erased. This does not include information the site must keep for legal, security, or administrative reasons.
Where Your Data Goes
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam‑detection service.
