Some mornings arrive with a softness that asks nothing of us. This is one such day for me. No deep emotional posts for me today!
Fybromyalgia Flare
The past few days were a bit rough due to a Fibromyalgia flare-up, but I am feeling better today. The pain has eased! I should even be able to wash my hair now, as my head isn’t as sore and the spasms have eased in my back. All I wanted was sleep…was getting around 10 hours every night since Monday. It was a bad flare-up for me this time, but as usual, it is temporary.
I did have a productive day yesterday, though, as I did our taxes. It’s Tax Season here in Canada!
Finally, Sidewalks are Cleared
After about 3 weeks, our sidewalks in my area finally got plowed last night! We still have quite a bit of snow, and it is quite cold out, but I need some fresh air, so I am heading out today to the grocery store to get a few things. I haven’t been outside since Monday evening, when I went to Costco with some people. Yes, I get tired of staying home!
Today, I’m Choosing Gentleness.
May today wrap you in calm moments, kind thoughts, small joys, and quiet strength to carry forward gently.
There is power in this kind of intention for me. Not the loud, performative kind of power the world often celebrates, but the quieter kind – the kind that rebuilds a nervous system, steadies a breath, and reminds us that we’re allowed to move at our own pace.
Calm moments help us notice what’s actually here. Kind thoughts soften the edges of self‑criticism. Small joys remind us that life is still offering beauty, even in ordinary places. And quiet strength carries us through the parts of the day that ask a little more of us.
In a culture that pushes urgency, productivity, and constant motion, choosing gentleness is not weakness. It’s clarity. It’s self‑respect. It’s a way of saying: I get to decide how I show up today.
Wherever you are this morning – whether in stillness, in transition, or in the middle of something hard – I hope you find a moment that feels like an exhale. A moment that reminds you that you’re allowed to move gently, even when the world moves fast.
And if today doesn’t feel gentle yet, that’s okay. Sometimes the intention itself is enough to shift the day by a few degrees.
