This is a new video from a new site I follow on YouTube that I found and wanted to share.

These 7 things I experienced after emotional abuse. I still do some of these things, like #1, 5, 6, & 7. As the video says, it is survival tactics I learned to keep going. With the help of my hubby, I got over the other ones, especially the constant over-explaining and apologizing I did.

  1. Constant over-explaining
  2. Automatic Apology
  3. Unconscious Mind-Reader
  4. Speaking in maybes or sorts of
  5. Deflecting compliments
  6. The all-or-nothing approach to sharing
  7. Silence

This is a very informative video filled with very helpful information that will help you understand your experience better, as it did for me. I shared it with people in my life, and it helped quite a bit for them to understand me better!

Copied from YouTube:

“The way we communicate is a map of our past. 🗺️ For those who have navigated emotional abuse, certain habits that might seem strange are actually deeply ingrained survival skills. We’re gently unpacking 7 of these communication patterns—like constant apologizing or over-explaining—to understand the real story behind them. This is about compassion and recognition, not judgment. 💙”
