Never Apologize For What You Feel
It’s Like Saying Sorry For Being Real

I have great appreciation for the words above. You should never feel guilty for your feelings—they are valid, real, and part of who you are. Apologizing for your emotions is like denying your true self. Embracing your feelings is a powerful step in healing and being authentic. On your journey to recovery and self-acceptance, remember: your feelings matter. You deserve to honour them instead of hiding or minimizing them.

May I invite you to follow the exercises provided in The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle (https://www.shortform.com/pdf/the-power-of-now-vb13747-b-pdf-eckhart-tolle) and find out for yourself that your feelings are the result of your thought patterns?

If you manage to stop the repeating thought pattern—sometimes hidden from direct sight because it is buried so deep it’s hard to become fully aware of it—the emotion will dissolve.

In other words, you—with what you think—cause the feelings you mistakenly take for granted. You then start thinking about what they might want to tell you. Isn’t that crazy?

You generate the feelings through thinking in the first place, then initiate further thinking to reason what they might mean, and even use them to set your goals for action.

It’s the trick of the mind keeping you trapped in the thought process and distracting you from what actually is—here and now.

In other words, your feelings are an illusion if you consider them as anything other than a product of your own thought pattern—triggered by whatever. And you can stop the emotion at any time, at will, if you lift the fog and start to see clearly what it really is.

You can dissolve both types of emotions—like sadness and anger, but also happiness and love. But you might often decide to let the thinking continue in order to prolong the enjoyment of happiness and love—if that’s what your current thoughts are generating.

Another relationship many are missing to know about is that your body posture is part of the feeling/emotion … so if you want to stop the emotion it is often enough to radically change the body posture to another one …

You might also dive into the principles of the Sedona Method ( https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSedonaMethod ) . Also this way you will find out that emotions are like objects you hold in your hand … you can stop holding them and then they stop to be part of you …

Thank you for your suggestions, I will be sure to check them out. Also, welcome!

Yes, it is crazy how we think affects our lives! I’ve spent the past few years learning mindfulness and how to control my thoughts, especially negative ones. Each day that passes it gets easier. I enjoy learning new things, especially helpful ones, so thank you!
