Salmonier Nature Park, Salmonier Line, Holyrood, Newfoundland

Hubby and I had the pleasure of going to Salmonier Nature Park in Holyrood, NL yesterday with our oldest son and daughter-in-law and walking the Trail. Salmonier Nature Park – Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture

I haven’t been there since my kids were young, and I saw many changes they have made. It was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon, even stopped for soft-serve ice cream on the way back! We had a great time, and the weather was awesome too. Nothing like spending a restful, sunny afternoon with family exploring Mother Nature here in NL! I do LOVE where I live!

Some of the animals were hiding and asleep in the heat, such as the Woodchuck, the Moose, the Snowy Owl, and a Red Fox, but we did get to see quite a few, as noted in the photos below.

The picture above is the Pitcher Plant, which is the Native Flower of Newfoundland & Labrador. Isn’t it beautiful? It grows in the Marshlands all over this Province.

I hope you enjoy this little trip to Salmonier Nature Park!

Hubby and I had a fantastic time this past week playing Tourists while he was on vacation.

  • We went on a Boat Tour with O’Brien’s Whale & Bird Tour in Bay Bulls and saw whales and so many Seabirds like Puffins at the Witless Bay Bird Sanctuary.
  • We did the Hop On, Hop Off Bus Tour and spent a few hours on Signal Hill with the Fog and at Cape Spear, where we got to see more Whales, including Orcas.
  • We got to go to Salmonier Nature Park yesterday, where we saw more animals and explored Marshland.

In between, we walked the Pedestrian Mall downtown, and even went for dinner of fish & chips at the Celtic Hearth Restaurant. We spent one day at home due to the weather! He is back to work now, at least till next month when he is off again for another week. It was a great StayCation!
