The Royal St. John’s Regatta

Flag Cam | The Royal St. John’s Regatta

The St. John’s Royal Regatta brings a special kind of energy to the city each year. I missed the event last year, and I won’t be going this year either; I am too sore to go walking around the lake, but at least hubby is off for the day! I’ll watch some of it on TV later, as they stream the events.

Quidi Vidi Lake comes alive with fixed‑seat rowing, families wandering the booths, and that unmistakable mix of tradition and community pride. Even on a quiet morning, you can feel the history in the air — more than two centuries of rowing, celebration, and shared summer memories. It’s a day when St. John’s pauses, gathers, and enjoys the simple joy of being together by the water.

If you want to see what is happening here on the Island today, click the links above and check it out. They have a Cam!

Until next time, have a great day!
