I am looking forward to this month and all the adventures I get to have!
This past weekend was busy but an awesome one. I greatly enjoyed the free concerts! I watched Justin Fancy and the Boogie Babes Downtown. What awesome shows they did!! The vibe was fantastic and I had a great time!
I had some wonderful videos of Justin Fancy but I sat next to some ladies whose voices come out over the music and I can’t remove them, so I won’t share them. Instead, I share the link to his page above.
A funny tidbit for you: I watched the news over the weekend on NTV, our TV station here, and I saw myself caught on camera when they scanned the crown Friday afternoon at Harbourside Park for Justin Fancy Concert coverage! You can’t miss my silver baseball cap and light blue shirt…
Below, is the Facebook page for The Boogie Babes where you can see pictures from their show Friday!

It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm and it brought out the crowds. Hubby even came to meet me after he got off work and got to listen to the Boogie Babes for the last hour or so.
Saturday, hubby came with me to the Shanneyganock concert, also downtown. That too was a beautiful hot sunny day. As the afternoon wore on, more and more people showed up. I couldn’t see the stage where we were sitting, but I heard the music! It was a fantastic concert and such energy!
Below, is the link to their Facebook page, where you can see videos of their concert Saturday to over 1000 people! I tell ya, the energy was contagious!

This past weekend was the last one for the Downtown Pedestrian Mall here in St. John’s. Water St. is now open once again for vehicles! I will miss the vibe but look forward to next year! I spent a lot of time Downtown this summer and I got a nice tan for my efforts.
While summer here in NL isn’t quite over yet, it is getting there. When I get up now in the mornings with hubby for work, it is still dark outside and I see it’s getting dark earlier now too. We still have hot weather, but you can feel the chill in the air at times.
In the meantime, September is still full of adventures for me!
The first up is all the Cruise Ships we have scheduled to come this month, starting on Friday, Sept. 6. I will try and get Downtown to see them all!! I love looking at these Ships, imagining all the places it has been! It is a dream of mine, to go on a Cruise. Maybe, one day…
Le Lyrial, Ponant Cruise Line – September 6-7, 2024, 6 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (+1) with approximately 200 passengers.
Arcadia, P&O Cruises – September 9, 2024, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with approximately 2388 passengers.
National Geographic Explorer, Lindblad Expeditions – September 12, 2024, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. with approximately 154 passengers.
Seaborn Quest, Seaborn Cruise Line – September 17-18, 2024, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (+1) with approximately 462 passengers.
Jewel of the Seas, Royal Caribbean – September 19, 2024, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with approximately 2501 passengers.
More Ships are coming after this date but I won’t be here to see them!
I am heading to the Mainland for 2 weeks! More to come on that later….
Also this month, I get to celebrate my hubby’s Birthday! Yes, he is a couple of years younger than I am so he will be 56 this month. He isn’t much of a celebration person but my son usually makes a cake for him and they come over to help celebrate it with us.
I also get to celebrate our move back to NL this month too. On September 19, 2020 hubby and I got here to St. John’s. It was during the early days of Covid-19, so travelling wasn’t easy. I had to get written permission to enter every Province we passed through from Ontario from Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. The Ferry to NL is in North Sidney, Nova Scotia! There are only 2 ways to get to NL, by boat or plane…
Sleeping in the truck every night with my issues wasn’t easy either, but I managed. I still remember the cry I had when I got off the Ferry in Port Aux Basques here in NL. I was crying that hard, I had to pull over. I have never felt such relief before, not like that.
When I got here in NL, I thought I would ever leave again, not only because of my mobility issues but out of my extreme fear I had. Now that the fear is gone, I feel more capable to do what I want to do. I want to visit family and my anxieties and fears no longer stop me, as I have them no more!
September is going to be an exciting month for me!!
How about you? Any plans for September that excite you?
