Friday August 9, 2024: What’s Important To Me Today

Starting over a new website isn’t easy…

I decided to change my Blog as I was tired of writing about toxic tenants. I lost interest in the Topic! I have learned so much about toxic traits and I came to understand why they do what they do.

I worked out why their behaviours bothered me so much and processed the emotions their actions caused me. I have recovered my mental health and I no longer need the validation.

While you might still see articles on Mental Health and Wellness, you won’t see me writing about the smear campaign and cyberbullying done to me over the years anymore.

I was getting bored of writing about the situation… 😀

Trying to work out what to write about next when your brain is stuck on one topic for so many years takes some work but I am working out some ideas that are coming together. I’ve been wanting to do this for the past year and now I can! Next week should be interesting!

In the meantime, it is important to me to start reflecting on the now, not the past.

In light of that, today is a brand new day and it looks to be an exciting one! It’s Friday! I am all rested now from all the walking I did Wednesday at the Royal Regatta so time to get out and do more!

I am off early this morning as I have to go across town to get a few things. I love riding the buses here, it gives me great views of the City I live in. I also have bus stops right in front of my house, making it easy to get to. I get to see so much of the scenery on the buses!

No matter how many times I see the same views, I am always in awe of them.

I live in the Middle of the City and it takes me an hour to get from where I live to the East End. There is quite a bit of walking for me to get around, but in all honesty, I don’t mind that as it gets me moving. I need to move or I seize up…

Then I am heading Downtown and to the Pedestrian Mall for more shopping! I also want to check out the “De La Paz Latin Quintet” playing there this afternoon for the Music Series Concerts. So many interesting things going on here in St. John’s this summer that it is hard to get to them all! In a couple of weeks, we have Justin Fancy and Shannygenock playing there as well!

Then it is back home as I have my son and daughter-in-law coming over for a visit and they are bringing me some fresh Cod fish! They get a box of Fresh Cod every summer and we spit it between us. It is enough to last hubby and me for months… I love Cod, and make my own batter too for it! It tastes delish…

One day, I will go out Cod jigging for myself!

My son is celebrating their First Wedding Anniversary next week. I remember the excitement of their Wedding last summer…I am so happy for them both!

My own Wedding Anniversary is coming too soon! Imagine, I’ve been married for almost 28 years! Hubby is off again that week and we have some things planned. So much excitement!

The month of August is all about celebrations! My health is getting on track, mentally and physically, and there are so many things to see and experience! Wedding Anniversaries to Celebrate too! The strength is quickly returning in my right leg and one day, soon, I won’t even need the cane anymore for support.

There are so many things I am grateful for and want to celebrate!

So until next week, have a blissful weekend!!

Lorrie
