Welcome, April 2025!
This is going to be an exciting month for me. It is my Birthday month! I’ll be 59 years old in a couple of weeks. I am hoping for a special present this year and I have a feeling I will get my wish. My Birthday present to myself will be an SUV. With this present, I will gain some independence back! It is hard these days to walk to, and to stand around, on bus stops to go places and walk long distances.
My hubby is hinting at something he got me that he says will make me cry… As I asked him to stop buying me jewelry, (I have enough), I have no idea what it could be. He already got me the Drone I wanted for Christmas! Knowing my husband, it will be something he knows I will love.
Yes, I am a techy and love all things in technology. It can be an expensive hobby, but I don’t mind, it keeps me physically and mentally active. The next techy thing I want is a Metal Detector.. lol Imagine, all the things I want will get me outside into Nature. I don’t mind that, I get to enjoy all the awesome scenery we have here!
I have been busy in recent weeks doing research and am waiting for some things to come through so I can move forward with my plans. I have so many of them!! I have been working on this since August 2024 and the financial windfall to come from it will change our lives for the better! I have big plans this summer for those funds… I am excited!
While I have been waiting, I have also been watching the reactions from Canadians over the tariffs from the Trump Administration. It is such a big thing online!
The unity I have seen amongst Canadians over this has been insane! Everywhere I go I see “Buy Canadian” signs, and I hear it is working as local businesses are doing better. Every time I go to the grocery store, I see the US products just sitting there, not being bought. Some stores don’t even carry them anymore!
Many changes are happening all across Canada, the biggest was the breaking of dependency with the United States, especially for our military protection. When Prime Minister Carney said our relations with the US are now over, I got emotional. Canada is now taking on building its own Military, and is actively building new trade agreements with the EU and other European and Asian countries. It is time to turn away from the US while Trump is in power screwing everything and everyone over…
When Trump got on TV and stated that any military equipment could be “scaled down” before selling it to other countries, it scared many, including us in Canada. No wonder Canada is cancelling the order for their Jets!
Knowing that the US could play around with the equipment bought from them, which could cause it to not work as it should when needed, is a very scary thought. As a result, the trust in these people, and any military equipment received from them, has been broken. Now, you see not just Canada refusing to buy their military products either!
The trust in the United States has been broken and to be honest, I don’t think it will ever go back to the way it was. The TRUST has been broken in ways that will be hard to repair. I don’t blame most of the American people, they were deceived by this man to get in power, and they are now seeing the error of their ways. The Americans will suffer more than we will, they have to live with this man as President.
My personal life won’t change much due to the decisions made by the Americans, other than purposefully ensuring I “Buy Canadian” as I have been doing. Since moving to Newfoundland and Labrador, I have been buying local as much as possible anyway now I ensure everything I buy is either from Canada or elsewhere other than the US.
While my hosting and domain are registered with American companies, I am working on changing them in the coming months as my renewals come up.
I am a firm believer in standing up to Bullies, like Donald Trump. His patterns of behaviour are very similar to the patterns I have seen from the toxic tenants I had after me for the past 8 and 1/2 years. I know how hard it will be to overcome the toxic actions they are doing, but I know it can be done.
Seeing the American people standing up against them is awesome! I feel with the uproar going on all across the Country, the Trump Administration won’t last a year, let alone 4 years! Keep going and kick them out and hold every one of them accountable for what they have done.
