Quote By Margaret B. Moss, “Profound Healing”
There is profound healing in retraining your brain to focus on what is good.
This is not a process of denying reality, but of self-preservation and being kind to yourself.
Notice the sorrow or bitterness, and let it drift past you, as you ground yourself in gratitude for all that you are, all that you will be, and all that you have.
As someone who practices this on an almost daily basis, I know how hard it is to maintain living in gratitude for the life you have. Some days, the anger and bitterness you feel due to outside influences, such as being cyberbullied, can get in the way and last longer than you would like. I have learned you can get out of that…
While there is so much going on in the outside world, it is so important to retrain your brain to focus on the beautiful things in your life. For me, I am grateful for my husband, my children and their partners, and my family. I am grateful for my life.
I am grateful I get up every morning knowing I live in such a beautiful Province of Newfoundland & Labrador (NL), which contains so much awesome scenery and friendly people. We look after each other here.
I am grateful I can still move and look after myself, for the most part. I have a walking cane, including a rollator, if I need it. I am currently working on getting a car for more independence and freedom. I have adjusted to my disabilities.
I live in NL, Canada, where I get the healthcare I need, when I need it, from a Healthcare Team of doctors, specialists, nurses, and even a pharmacist. I have free Dental care now, and so many benefits that help me financially like the GST/HST Rebate and the Disabilty Tax Credit I just got approved for. I can now get new dentures and it is free!
As a disabled person in Canada, I get access to various benefits that help me maintain my living standards, including the new Disability Benefit coming soon. I even get help to pay for my prescriptions I need. I know how lucky I am.
I am grateful we can buy what we need to eat, we can pay our bills every month, and live a comfortable life. It isn’t lavish, it is comfortable. I appreciate that not everyone can do that and I feel for them. I have what I need and I am grateful for that every single day. It is stress-free!
I am grateful we can even splurge once in a while, such as going to a concert. We just bought tickets to see Foreigner in October when they come to the Island and I am excited to go to that!
I feel for everyone around the world that is suffering right now, living in fear of the next outrageous thing to come from the US and its demonic administration, but look around you and take in all that you are grateful for. If you practice this every day, you will notice the difference in your thinking.
You can’t control what anyone else says or does, but you can control yourself by focusing on all the good you do have. That is where your power is.
