Stella Reddy's Story of Hope

I’ve been reflecting a lot on how I approach my daily routines and the small habits that shape my mindset. It’s funny how seemingly insignificant choices—like the way I start my morning or the books I pick up—can ripple outward and influence my entire day. I’ve realized that cultivating intentionality in these moments is what truly helps me stay grounded amidst the chaos going on in the World.

Every morning, I take 15 quiet minutes just for myself. I’ve found that starting the day with a bit of silence,  simply sipping coffee, sets a calm tone that carries through everything I do. It’s like planting a seed of mindfulness that blooms throughout the day. I’ve learned that giving myself that pause makes all the difference.

Reading has become another cornerstone of my routine. I’m drawn to books and articles that challenge my perspectives and encourage growth. I want to learn, unlearn, and constantly evolve. Sometimes, I get caught up in the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, but I remind myself that it’s about the integration—how I apply what I learn to everyday life. That’s where real transformation happens.

One thing I’m working on is being more intentional with my digital consumption. It’s easy to get lost scrolling endlessly, consuming content that often leaves me feeling more disconnected or overwhelmed. I got caught up in watching YouTube videos and reading articles about the US, and found it was affecting me. The toxic behaviour I see there is a trigger for me, bringing back some of the angst I felt from being bullied myself. I see so many similarities in the patterns of behaviour…

I’ve had to set boundaries—specific times when I check social media or emails—and I notice how much more present I feel when I do. It’s about reclaiming my attention and focusing on what truly matters, whether that’s deepening relationships or pursuing creative projects. I’ve also been reading the “Let Them Theory” by Mel Robins, and it is an awesome book!

Speaking of relationships, I’ve realized that meaningful connections require effort and presence. It’s tempting to hide behind screens or busy schedules, but I try to prioritize quality interactions. Even a simple conversation or shared silence can be profoundly healing. I want to be someone who listens deeply, who shows up fully, without distractions. That’s where authentic bonds are forged with others around me.

I’ve also been thinking about the importance of rest and self-care. In a culture that often celebrates hustle, I’ve learned that my productivity increases when I honour my need for rest. Permitting myself to pause, to breathe, and to simply be has made me more creative and resilient. It’s not about doing more, but about doing what matters with clarity and intention.

Ultimately, I see life as a continuous journey of self-discovery. Every day offers an opportunity to learn more about myself and the world around me. I want to stay curious, stay humble, and embrace the imperfections along the way. Because in the end, it’s these small, mindful choices that build a life worth living—one rooted in authenticity, growth, and genuine connection.
