As I mentioned before, I don’t usually write poems, but sometimes they come out. This poem below I wrote for my husband many years ago, and I found it in one of my journal books from 2012 and thought to share it here.
I have mentioned before that my hubby has been my best support throughout all the rough stuff I’ve been through. We’ve been together 30 years and will celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary next month. We’ve had our ups and downs, as any relationship does, but our commitment to each other has never wavered.
I know how lucky I am to have met my soulmate and best friend, and I am very grateful. Being thankful for my hubby is one of my top mindful thoughts every morning!
To My Husband
To my beloved, my rock, my guide,
In your arms, I find my safe space to hide.
Through storms we’ve weathered, fierce and long,
Together, we’ve grown resilient and strong.
Your love, a beacon through darkest night,
A tender touch, a calming light.
In you, I find a fierce, gentle grace,
A healing balm, a sacred place.
With every heartbeat, your strength I feel,
In your warmth, my wounds start to heal.
Through life’s complex dance, trials, and pain,
Our souls entwined, break every chain.
Thank you for loving me just as I am,
For holding my heart like a precious gem.
In your presence, I rise, I mend,
Forever, my husband, my love, my friend.
