January 2, 2026 Ramblings: Welcome to a New Year!
My holidays were wonderful — truly uplifting. How about yours?
I enjoyed every moment and came out of it feeling lighter, freer, and more at peace. I spent meaningful time with family and friends, and I’ll admit, I was a little spoiled this year. It was awesome to be with my son and daughter -in-law, while my youngest son was on the phone, sharing in the moments.
I even got the paper shredder I’d been hoping for, since my old one gave out long ago. I’ve been clearing out old paperwork from past tenants who tried to smear me online, and it feels good to let all of that go. I don’t need any of it anymore. I do shred a lot of paper…
As 2026 begins, I’m holding space for the quiet things — the ones that don’t shout, but shape a life. I love winter, especially being out when big fat snowflakes are falling. I must say, we’ve had more rain than snow lately, but I don’t mind. I enjoy it all!
I’m looking forward to living more mindfully, tuning in to how I feel each day and honouring those feelings. I want to be present for the small joys: the warmth of my morning coffee, the rhythm of shared routines with my husband, the hush of snow/rain falling outside our window. I am determined to have a life, not just live.
I’m looking forward to writing more — not just to share, but to understand. I love learning new things, don’t you? I find it keeps my mind sharp. I plan on finishing my book this year.
I am reaching a milestone in a few months, and in all honesty, I didn’t think I would see it. My 60th Birthday! I didn’t think I would make it this far. I plan on celebrating reaching this age, especially when I didn’t think I would. When I think about being 60 years old, I feel empowered. Do you think that is weird? So many doctors over the past 30+ years have told me I wouldn’t make it this far, yet here I am!
I’m looking forward to walking the coastline again in the Spring, breathing in the salt air, and letting the land remind me of what’s real. I love sitting by the Ocean, feeling its rhythm.
And most of all, I’m looking forward to showing up for my life — not just in the big moments, but in the ordinary ones. Because that’s where I found the magic lives. 2026 is going to be an awesome year!
