Fishing Trip June 7, 2025: Long Pond

Long Pond, St. John's NL

Hubby and I had a great day fishing at Long Pond on Saturday, June 7, 2025. We spent the afternoon there, getting caught in a rain shower here and there. Thankfully, there is a Gazibo close by that kept us dry! I don’t mind getting a bit wet, it’s only rain.

We didn’t catch anything, but I don’t mind that. It is being outside that counts to me. Being out in Nature is where I try to be every day. I have said before that I find it fantastic that you can go to a Park here in the City and you feel like you are out in the middle of the woods.

Hubby and I walked the Trail of Long Pond a couple of years ago. I can’t do that now, but I can still take in some of its beauty.

Below, you will find some pictures I took of the Trail and the Pond. I also share one of me that my hubby took! If you check out my Facebook, you will see a couple of videos I took!

According to Wikipedia, Long Pond is a pond in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is next to Prince Philip Drive (the parkway) near the St. John’s Arts and Culture Centre, and the Fluvarium is on the opposite side of the pond. It sports a walking trail around its shore, of which a small percentage is the Prince Philip Drive sidewalk, and a turnoff trail on the Fluvarium side leads to Mount Scio Road.

Pippy Park is very close! This Park has campsites you can rent to go camping in the middle of St. John’s! Yes, many years ago, I camped here from time to time…

It is a beautiful place and very peaceful.
