Share: When Women Inspire

I am sharing this inspiring post from whenwomeninspire.com, also a Blogger I have been following about how to stop telling yourself negative things with the help of CBT therapy. I greatly enjoyed reading this post and it was a reminder of how far I have come!

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of behavioural treatment. It helps people problem-solve. CBT also reveals the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviours that follow.

I have been in this type of therapy a couple of times and will go for refreshers when I need them. I have a few books too now, including a workbook that I can use at my own pace. Over time, it allows me to flip the script on the negative thinking I sometimes get stuck in and find solutions. You see evidence of it in my writing on my site…

Nothing is as bad as your mind leads you to believe it is. Every situation, good and bad, is temporary and will always pass. Look at the Bullying I have endured from these tenants, it may have taken 7 years but finally, the contents of the websites are gone from the internet. 7 years is a long time, but still, it ended, showing me that all things do!

We need to learn to live in the present moment and take the lessons from our past, not make them our prisons. I am very determined to do just that! It takes patience and practice, but eventually, it will become second nature to you!

Has anyone else done CBT therapy? If so, how did you find it? Did it help you?
