November 29, 2023 Ramblings

Good Morning Fellow Bloggers!

Wow, November is almost over once again! Where is the time going? I went out yesterday into the crazy wind and got caught in the rain when I left the Avalon Mall after some shopping. It was so dark at 2:00 pm! I love the wind, I find it very invigorating! It blows away the cobwebs in my mind!

They are calling for some snow here today, up to 30 cm in higher terrain. It isn’t snowing outside yet but it will be fun!

As an ardent lover of the snow, I simply can’t get enough of it! I especially love the big, fat, snowflakes that fall ever so gently! The mere sight of those delicate snowflakes gently descending from the heavens fills me with an inexplicable joy. The way it blankets the world in a wondrous white hue, creating a magical winter wonderland, never fails to captivate me.

While some may dread the daunting task of shovelling snow, I embrace it with open arms. Despite its physical demands and the toll it takes on my body, I view shovelling as an opportunity to connect with nature and maintain a sense of accomplishment. It takes me longer to do, but at least it gets done and I enjoy the process!

The sound of the shovel meeting the ground, the satisfying swoosh as I push the snow aside, and the feeling of the cold winter air brushing against my face all contribute to a kind of tranquillity that I can only find in these peaceful, moments. The rhythmic motion of shovelling allows my mind to be mindful, leaving behind the stress and worries of daily life, and instead immersing me in a serene environment where only the snow and I exist.

While some may find shovelling to be a burden, I find solace in the solitude it offers. It gives me the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature and the sheer magnificence of the snow. Each shovel-full becomes a testament to my resilience and determination, reminding me that hard work truly does pay off.

I even enjoy making snow angels! Who else likes the snow?

December is approaching rapidly, bringing with it the delightful Christmas season! Today marks the perfect occasion to retrieve my tree and all the festive decorations. Being the sole orchestrator of this merry task, and with the challenges I face, it requires a significant investment of time. However, rest assured, I anticipate completing this delightful project by tomorrow. My house will be filled with colours! Sometimes, I wish I could keep it up all year round.

I absolutely adore the holiday season, especially Christmas! The past few years the twinkling lights, festive decorations, and joyous spirit, this magical time of year never fails to fill my heart with warmth and excitement. The cheerfulness that permeates the air is truly contagious, and I find myself eagerly counting down the days till Christmas arrives.

The anticipation builds as I think about gathering with loved ones, sharing laughter, and creating beautiful memories together. Connecting with family scattered all over Canada has been my new tradition for the past couple of years! Here in NL, I get to see my son and new daughter-in-law on Christmas Eve! This is their first Christmas as a married couple and I am looking forward to joining them to celebrate!

Of course, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the traditional music that fills the airwaves, even Newfoundland music. From timeless classics to upbeat festive tunes, these melodies evoke a sense of nostalgia and add an extra layer of enchantment to the holiday season. Whether it’s singing carols with friends or attending a festive concert, the music of Christmas never fails to uplift my spirits and remind me of the true meaning of the season.

Above all, Christmas is another time for gratitude, love, and reflection. It allows me to appreciate the blessings in my life, express my gratitude for the relationships I hold dear, and remember the true essence of giving. The spirit of Christmas embodies the selfless act of giving, not only through material possessions but also through acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity towards those in need.

As the holiday draws nearer, I cannot help but feel a sense of pure joy and excitement. The magic of Christmas has a way of making everything brighter, more beautiful, and full of wonder. It is a time of love, hope, and togetherness, where we all come together to celebrate the joy of this special season. I truly, wholeheartedly, and unconditionally love Christmas.

While I appreciate some people don’t celebrate Christmas, how about you? Any special traditions for the Holidays?

Whatever you choose to do, I hope you have a fantastic time doing it! It os going to be a month-long festive season for me!
