Good Morning from Newfoundland!!

It is wet and raining here today… Not nice weather to go outside so I am taking some time for me today. Got some stuff to do here at home…

I have been busy… Last weekend was a lot of fun! Walking the Trail at Long Pond and stopped to do some fishing along the way. We came across a few Eastern Yellow Swallowtail Butterflies, aren’t they beautiful?

While at the Pond we came across some Students who were going around checking out the bugs in the area and they told us what they are. I had a grand chat about all the bugs around and learned some new things!

It’s nice to stop and have random conversations with people and it seems to be happening more often these days! When I was Downtown Sunday morning to check out the Cruise Ship noted below, I had numerous conversations with people we came across and no one was even off the Ship yet.

Everywhere I have gone this week, I end up having random conversations with people around me. Yesterday at the grocery store, I was having a grand chat with the lady in front of me and the cashier, about cats… lol

The more I have healed my soul from Trauma, the more relaxed I become, and the more approachable I am to others!!

I said this summer was about relaxing and just being ME!! With the fear gone of being turned on and attacked in some form, I feel so much better! This is a summer of socializing and opening my life up to others, especially with the Wedding next month. I am so excited! I haven’t felt such excitement in a long time!

Long Pond is a beautiful place, just like so many others we have in the middle of this City… Once you get on the Trail, you feel like you are in the middle of the Forest! There are so many Birds, Squirrels, and a lot of bugs… lol No City sounds at all!! Everything is so green!! Hubby and I spent the afternoon here, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells…and having chats with people on the way.

Here in NL, you will find a lot of trees of so many kinds and some, for some reason, grew in really weird ways… I found this tree and it looks like it grew a butt!! It isn’t my first time seeing a tree with a lump in it, but the first time I saw 2! It is awesome up close!

Here are a couple of pictures I took of Long Pond. It is a very peaceful place, behind Memorial University and goes right up the Mountain behind the Hospitals. There are a lot of beautiful Trails here so if you are a Lover of Mother Nature you will always find something to see and enjoy!

On Sunday, July 2 we had a early rise as we wanted to go see the Seven Seas Navigator Cruise Ship that came in at around 9:00 am. Beautiful weather for it!!

It is a beautiful Ship, a little smaller than the ones we get here with 530 passengers but still awesome. We started at Harbourside Park to see it come through the Narrows and made our way over to the Dock to watch it come in. I was standing there, waving to the people onboard, many of whom waved back!

Hubby and I spent the morning checking it out and walking the Waterfront. It was an awesome weekend!

If you want to check out more pictures, or even videos, you are welcome to check out my Facebook page! I share a lot of pictures and video’s also taken by others of our beautiful Province there. https://www.facebook.com/sunshine02lorrie/
