April 1, 2024 Ramblings: Choose Joy!

Happy April!! I love April, it is the month that Mother Nature wakes up! Seeing the new buds on all the trees in the yard gives me great joy! Seeing all the snow disappear is even better!

It is also my birth month! I will be 58 years young in just over a week! Yes, I am an Aries, if you follow that stuff. I do, and I agree I have some of the traits of an Aries person as I am determined to be who I am, like it or not.

According to Astrology: Aries people are bold, energetic, full of vitality, charismatic, fun, lively, passionate, and driven by their hearts and desires. Aries is a passionate, motivated, and confident leader who builds community with their cheerful disposition and relentless determination. Uncomplicated and direct in their approach, they often get frustrated by exhaustive details and unnecessary nuances.

I am grateful to be so determined and bold, fighting my fears and symptoms from PTSD every day, so I can get some Joy out of my life. As the poster above says, we have to choose joy and keep choosing it!

I had a really joyful weekend… Hubby and I did some spring cleaning on Saturday and Sunday and rearranged the living room. My son and daughter-in-law came by last evening with apple pie and ice cream and we spent a few hours catching up and having a laugh. It was a wonderful visit and I get to see them again on my Birthday, as my son always makes me a cake. He is such a great baker! I just love their company!

I got the call!! My spine surgery is scheduled for Monday, April 22, 2024.

3 weeks from today! I am a bit nervous, it is a different surgery than what I am used to, but I have faith that all will be as it should. I have a lot of support and know I will be fine! I’ll even be recovered enough to go to the Show on May 4 with Rick Mercer and Jann Arden! This is where all that determination will come in, as I will be sure to be able to go to that show!

The next 3 weeks are going to be fun… But nothing I can’t handle! Happy April!

    1. Thank you, much appreciated! I hope you had a awesome Easter!

lol Yes, I do tend to ram my way through to the other side…I like that analogy!

My oldest son calls me a “tank”, as I can take a beating and still keep going. He equates each scar I have, each broken bone I have had, as a dent in my armour, but it doesn’t stop me from going after what I want. These things might slow me down, but they don’t stop me from reaching my goal.

      1. Your strength is so admirable, and your family is lucky to have you … those bones need smooth sailing, and my gentle thoughts and prayers are with you! <3 !!!
