Filming In Newfoundland

I wanted to share with you some knowledge about all the TV Shows and Movies that have been filmed here in NL that you have probably seen but didn’t know where it was filmed.

“Departure” Season 3 is one such show. Do you watch it? I watched the 4th episode last night and saw so many places that I go to, especially the Harbourfront of St. John’s. It was awesome to see! I love seeing Newfoundland scenery in TV shows and movies!

The premise of the show is based on the sinking of a Ferry from the U.S. to St. John’s, which would be nice but not something I see happening anytime. It is a mystery that we watch becomes clearer with each episode and I greatly enjoy the Series. It is a great show, even if this season wasn’t filmed here!

The Newfoundland shoot was in and around St. John’s, with a bulk of that time spent at Petty Harbour, which doubled as Harbour Cove.,spot%2C%20and%20going%20to%20St.

There have been a number of movies and shows filmed in Newfoundland and Labrador over recent years, “Hudson & Rex” is one of the more famous ones that I also religiously watch since it started. I got to watch them film some scenes for that show last summer on the Waterfront and it was awesome. I also saw filming for SurrealEstate last summer!

I am not a groupie, but I find it really cool seeing film crews around the City. They love filming here and I don’t blame them, as the scenery is like nowhere else. Yes, I am very proud of this Province and love to show it off!

All of these films and TV shows are fantastic to watch, but if you do choose to see them, keep an eye out for the scenery within them. You will get to see what I mean about the scenery here as it just draws people in!
